About this Trail: This trail (except for the private access) this trail is located in the Tyee Mountain BC Recreation Site. For a good hike in on snow shoes park at the first parking spot. From there, head up the drive way for a short bit, where you will see a trail head sign and first junction. Turn right, following the prayer flags, you will see the trail to the left about 20m from junction. The trail goes uphill, and is flagged orange and blue. Continue uphill, enjoying the views, at one point behind a dwelling (Sobeys house - private) you will get to a groomed track, keep to that. You will eventually reach a proper road, a T-junction where there is a set ski track (avoid snowshoeing on it, take sled track or stay in middle), take a right at the junction and head to next junction. Look for the flags that will lead you to the swamp at the south end of McDowell Lake. For a great picnic spot, follow the lake edge to the right (east). Enjoy the peace and views.
