September 26th 2010 is Rivers Day!
Join the festivities to celebrate and protect the rivers of our landscape on Sunday, Sept. 26--BC and World Rivers Day. Meet at the Walcott Bridge at 9:30 am to paddle in your own craft, or join experienced paddlers who will take you downstream (contact Gladys Atrill at 250.846.5245 or

to book a seat).
Or hike in, meeting Brent at 9:30 at the Quick Chalet.
When the flotilla arrives at the new Bulkley River Recreation Site, festivities will begin: a Wet'suwet'en welcome; announcement of the winners of the Children's River Art Contest; draw prizes; live music (String Licorice and Twisted Strings) and a complimentary salmon bar-b-que lunch and hot beverage, donated by SkeenaWild and Glacier Toyota.
Then it's back in the rafts or canoes for paddlers, or back to the trails for hikers. Paddlers can pull out at the Quick Bridge, or continue further downstream.
Wear warm clothing--and we'll celebrate the river, come rain or shine.
