Trail grading, being subjective, is a challenging task to undertake. It depends on not only the terrain, but also on whether users are hiking, biking, or horseback riding.
FollowYourPath Trail Map Series uses Easy, Moderate, Difficult and Extreme.
Easy - These trails are generally used by everyone. Families, beginners, people who like to be out in nature and don’t want to be to far off the beaten track.
Moderate - For those who like a little something more challenging. Most trails in this class, have an element of gradient to them. There may be short steep sections, or a longer, more gradual incline.
Difficult - For experienced users of outdoor recreation. May require skill, or endurance, or both to complete. Extreme - These trails involve risk. Not for the novice. Try these only if you get bored of visiting the Difficult.
